Wrong Tree Again? No… Just Not the Final Tree.

It’s been funny the sheer number of mathematical revelations that seem remarkable to me, but that lead me back to that big brick wall that is integer factorization, still, at its core. In my mind, in a way, I keep simplifying it – simpler and simpler – while, at the same time, I’ve not made a dent in that wall, nor any real progress toward scaling it… not that I can tell.

I’ll keep trying, though. There always seems to be something new about this for me to try. The next tree will present itself, and I’ll bark up it as quickly as I can.

Maybe they’re all, to use another metaphor, red herrings, every single one … but maybe not.
